Transitional Care is a 24-bed personal care home on Covington Highway in Decatur, run by Betty Davis, RN, who has been a nurse for over 30 years. The focus is the stretch after a hospital stay — people recovering from a stroke, injury or surgery, and seniors who can no longer live alone. Staff includes RNs, CNAs, a dietitian and physical and occupational therapy, with the stated goal of getting residents home or into longer-term care without another hospital readmission.
